Keyboard shortcuts
Every keyboard shortcut in SchoolCAD, for the Part workspace, sketches and everywhere, with keys like Onshape, Fusion or SOLIDWORKS if you choose.

Most tools have a one-key shortcut. Press the key when you are not typing in a box. In SchoolCAD, press ? (or click Shortcuts in the status bar at the bottom) to see this list.
Keys like Onshape, Fusion or SOLIDWORKS#
Choose the keys you will use in industry in Settings (Mouse and view → Keyboard shortcuts like), or at the top of the list that ? opens. Choosing Onshape's, Fusion's or SOLIDWORKS' mouse buttons brings that program's keys too.
- SchoolCAD (standard): one letter for each tool, such as E Extrude and S Sketch.
- Onshape: exactly Onshape's keys, so they work there too: Shift+E Extrude, Shift+S Sketch, and in a sketch G corner rectangle, M trim, X extend and O offset. S opens Search tools, as Onshape's shortcut toolbar. Other letters do nothing, as in Onshape.
- Fusion: Fusion's own letters: E Extrude, H Hole, Q Push/Pull (Fusion: Press Pull), F Fillet, M Transform (Fusion: Move/Copy), V hide the selected parts, J Mate (Fusion: Joint), I Measure, S Search tools (Fusion: the toolbox), F6 fit and Ctrl+B rebuild (Fusion: Compute All). In a sketch: L line, R rectangle, C circle, T trim, O offset, P project, X construction, D dimension, and E finishes the sketch and extrudes it. SchoolCAD's other letters still work.
- SOLIDWORKS: SchoolCAD's letters, with SOLIDWORKS' S and W (the shortcut bar and command search: Search tools), Space (the view selector: front, top, isometric …), Enter (repeat the last tool), Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+7 the front, back, left, right, top, bottom and isometric views, Ctrl+8 normal to, Ctrl+B or Ctrl+Q rebuild, and Tab to hide the part under the pointer (Shift+Tab shows the hidden parts again). In a sketch, A switches between line and arc as you draw.
Every choice has Onshape's Shift keys (Shift+E Extrude, Shift+W Revolve, Shift+1 to Shift+7 the views, Shift+I isolate, Shift+P hide the planes and sketches, and in a sketch Shift+E or Shift+W to finish it and extrude or revolve it) and its sketch constraint keys (H horizontal, V vertical, B parallel). Everywhere, Delete (or Backspace, the delete key on a Mac) deletes the selected feature, Ctrl+O opens a file, F2 renames (not in the Onshape style), and on a Mac ⌘ works wherever these pages say Ctrl. Tooltips and Search tools show the keys you chose.
Without a mouse: Alt+P turns on the keyboard pointer in the 3D view (arrow keys move it, Enter clicks, Shift+F10 opens the right-click menu), the arrow keys move through the feature list and menus, and Tab moves between the parts of the screen. See Accessibility.
